[Image description: a series of photos depicting young people, mostly women, menstruating while going about their daily activities: changing their tampon, checking their cell phone, lying in a bath, kissing a partner, sitting and reading at a coffee shop, waiting at a bus stop, and running].
This is realllllllllly weird lmao
This is really NORMAL.
Except we never see it-so it is terrifying and uncomfortable when it happens.
(Mostly because people would laugh or be unkind)
I own a sex shop. Once a woman bled on our chair during an interview. She was horrified and felt ashamed because it was in some way unprofessional. We weren’t bothered. We said ‘what better place to work on being ok with your body than at a feminist sex shop?’
Bleeding is normal and dealing with it is one of the most pervasive ways women are complicit in their silence.
Some men bleed too. How would you react to that? For many men who are Trans the act of bleeding is a security threat.
Fuck off with your lolz.
Reblogging again for above commentary ^^^^^
why the fuck would someone think that Miss fucking Saigon is a love story
put aside the obvious IMPERIALISM, SEXUALIZATION OF ASIAN WOMEN, RAPE CULTURE OF THE US MILITARY AND ITS DEALINGS WITH WOMEN OF COLOR, RACISM, BELITTLING OF ASIANS BY WHITE PEOPLE, WHITE SUPREMACY, etc
IT’S JUST NOT A LOVE STORY
He leaves the woman for a white woman and wants to get his baby what the fuck is actually so romantic about that?
white people y’all NEED to start trying harder
Street harassment is not a compliment.

The Sociological Cinema (via trimichaelceratops)
There was actually research that was done that found that women who used an “I have a boyfriend/husband” excuse to reject unwanted sexual attention and harassment by their bosses were more likely to be left alone than those who used any other excuse (including “I’m not interested”)
plot twist: the man thinks, ah, she is simply expressing her frustration as a member of an oppressed group, whilst hating the construction of masculinity that was designed to keep her down, not necessarily all individual men such as myself…this is absolutely not the same thing as sexism and not a personal attack on me *keeps scrolling*

Hey I have cool friends everybody
i'm very curious as to why your definition has "and those assumed to be of Arab descent" as part of it because that's not what antisemitism is.
Our definition reads as follows: Antisemitism - discrimination towards someone culturally Jewish, of Jewish faith or of Jewish heritage, and those assumed to be of various descents such as Ashkenazim and Sephardim.
Because antisemitism often is based on the assumption that someone is both Jewish and of Arab-descent. Many people who are antisemitic are also extremely ignorant when it comes to ancestry and how it works.
Most of the #rant submissions we’ve gotten about antisemitism include mentions that the perpetrator truly believe that ethnicity always goes along with religious practices and descendance. It is a very complex identity.
You can define it traditionally if you wish, as solely based on Jewish background and practices, but oppression and discrimination are extremely intersecting and we chose to mention it in our definition for the safety and comfort of others.
